For 55 years we've been there when Monterey County residents need us most. We offer free and low cost mental health, substance use disorder, and homeless services for all in need to help everyone reach their highest potential.
Community Human Services (CHS) is dedicated to helping Monterey County residents reach their full potential through compassionate, high-quality services rooted in three core pillars: mental health, substance use recovery, and homelessness services.
We recognize that these challenges often intersect, which is why we take a whole-person approach to care. Whether someone is experiencing a mental health crisis, seeking support for substance use, facing homelessness, or navigating a combination of these challenges, CHS provides a pathway to stability, healing, and hope.
Through evidence-based, trauma-informed programs, our team works alongside individuals and families to address immediate needs while building long-term foundations for health, recovery, and self-sufficiency.
